She came to us last summer as unexpected as a sun shower.

The moment I laid eyes on her I was instantly smitten. Besides being beautiful, she is unique. Long tan ears with tan round rings around each brown eye, and a honey stripe down her back, and a butterfly on her nose makes her striking.

She is a Beatrice Potter bunny ready made to sit down and have tea with me. Even her name - Charlotte - is perfect. Everyday she never fails to enchant me when I walk past her hutch. Feeding and caring for her is like taking a mild sedative always lifting my spirits.

I don't know why this bunny has capture my heart. I don't even remember having a particular attraction to rabbits, but for some unexplainable reason I love this one - Charlotte.

I finished lambing early this year. My last lambs were born the second week
of March. I have eight ram lambs and two ewe lambs. Not a bad year considering
I wasn't going to lamb. Our last year ram lambs were not
separated in time and seven of my ewe's got pregnant.

I was totally not prepared for the lambing. A couple of ewe's had their lambs
in the field because I was not sure when they were due. I awoke one very
cold morning to find ewe and lamb greeting me at the barn door.
Another cold, wet, morning I saw a little black lamb standing with mom not able
to make it back to the barn. I ran out, grabbed the chilled lamb, brought him
back to the barn and started warming him with a hairdyer. I didn't think he'd
make it, but as I was leaving the barn he got up went over to Mom and
started drinking her milk. Small miracles happen everyday. I was thankful
this little guy would make it.

Inside the house, I've been experimenting with dying my handspun yarn
with Gaywool dyes in the microwave. So far, I've been happy with the results. The skeins have come out beautiful and unique. It's a very different look then dying the roving.
